The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has advised intending buyers to verify legal status of plots of private housing schemes before entering into any deal.
The LDA took this step in view of reports that certain developers were selling plots carved out on unapproved areas by presenting them as part of approved housing scheme. The Lahore Development Authority has also established a special counter No 22 at the One Window Cell of its Johar Town office. Staff of the Metropolitan Planning Wing of LDA has been deputed at this counter for responding to public queries and verifying particulars of plots being sold by these housing schemes. This measure has been taken in view of the increasing public complaints regarding sale of mortgaged plots, additional plots on unapproved area as well as plots demarcated on public utility sites like schools, dispensaries, community centre and graveyards etc by these schemes.
The LDA has also uploaded details of lay-out plans of all the approved housing schemes on its website www.lda.gop.pk.
