A 22-inch diameter gas pipeline supplying gas to Punjab from Sui was been blown up in Kashmor in Rajanpur on Friday.
According to police sources, unknown miscreants blew up the pipeline with explosives in Faiz Muhammad Goth area of Rajanpur, suspending gas supply to several areas in Punjab.
Furthermore, traffic was suspended near Dera Nire after a fire broke out following explosion in the gas pipeline, the police said.
Sui Northern Gas Company General Manager Rehan Nawaz said that gas supply was disrupted after a 22-inch diameter pipeline was blown up. Gas supply to industries was also suspended due to the explosion.
