Former Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz kicked off his own election campaign in Lahore on Thursday. He visited his constituency (NA-129) from where he is contesting for both national and provincial assembly seats.

Sharifs are running from this constituency for the first time in which mostly the rural areas of the city fall. This constituency is considered the most neglected area of Lahore.

Meanwhile, PML-N leaders who accompanied Shahbaz Sharif were surprised to see Shahbaz Sharif spending several hours in his constituency. During his stay, he made stopovers at around two dozen places. On each stop, he addressed the people who had gathered, most of whom were surprised to see Shahbaz.

Speaking to the locals, Shahbaz promised to bring the rural area of the city at par with the urban areas.

He also assured the people that his government would provide health and educational facilities. He promised to reduce load shedding in the rural areas.

He said that load shedding was the biggest indicator of misrule and corruption committed by the PPP government in the last five years.

“We will overcome load shedding within two years,” he assured.
