President Asif Zardari on Thursday assured the government’s full support for the earthquake victims and asked the caretaker Balochistan chief minister to take measures for relief and rehabilitation of the affected people.
The president was talking to caretaker Balochistan CM Ghaus Bakhsh Barozai who called on him at the Presidency.
He also directed Barozai to provide best possible medical treatment to those who sustained injuries in Tuesday’s earthquake.
During the meeting, they discussed overall situation in the province with focus on relief and rehabilitation of quake victims and the security arrangements made for holding free and fair elections.
The CM besides steps for relief of earthquake affected people in Balochistan apprised the President about the measures being taken by the provincial government to ensure holding of the general election in the province.
The CM also updated the president on latest law and order situation in Balochistan and the steps taken to maintain peace, and to bring to book the culprits involved in the recent attack on Sardar Sanaullah Zehri.
The president urged the provincial government to take every possible step to ensure holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the province.
