The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday rejected a petition to keep the Lal Masjid report confidential and ordered that it be made public.
A three member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the Lal Masjid suo moto case. The Lal Masjid Commission had requested that the report be made confidential but after evaluating the report the court ordered for it to be made public.
The report will be provided to all those who request for it and the apex court ordered that copies be given to all members of the bench and the lawyer for Lal Masjid.
The lawyer for Lal Masjid also informed the court that his junior was receiving threats and the bench summoned a reply from IG Islamabad.
Another rabbit pulled out of the CJP's Hat. It was submitted weeks ago; why was it kept under cover for this time; is this also like the numerous reserved judgements.
