The Cabinet Division has decided to replace the top brass in the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and appoint new officers from the District Management Group (DMG) to end culture of corruption in the authority, sources revealed on Wednesday.

Sources in the Cabinet Division said the decision had been taken after a large number of the officers in the CDA were allegedly involved in allotment of plots, particularly allotment of commercial plots.

Sources said that most of the officers in the CDA on deputation were involved in corrupt practices so they would be sent to their parent departments. Fifteen officers from the DMG will replace these officers in the first phase, the sources revealed.

The CDA chairman said that he himself had sent the summary to the Cabinet Division for this replacement. “It is our resolve that the CDA be made a corruption free entity; therefore, officers from other groups and departments could also be inducted in addition to the DGM officers,” he added.
