The Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court hearing the Benzir Bhutto murder case extended on Wednesday the protective bail granted to former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf until April 24.
According to details, Justice Abdul Sami Khan, who heard the case pertaining to the December 2007 assassination of Benazir Bhutto, also ordered chief of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) to furnish surety bonds worth one million rupees.
Musharraf personally arrived in the court building under strict security cover provided by Rangers and police personnel.
Some lawyers staged a protest outside the court room against Pervez Musharraf after the bail extension.
Musharraf was granted bail by the Sindh High Court in Benazir Bhutto case on March 22, a day before he returned to Pakistan after more than four years in exile.
The bail was periodically extended several times.
Pervez Musharraf filed his nomination papers to contest for upcoming elections but he was disqualified by the election tribunal and returning officers on the ground that he abrogated the constitution.
