Yet in another incident of gang rape in the federal capital, two sisters were gang-raped with the alleged involvement of the family driver.
The incident took place in the village of Saidpur. The 16-year-old Maryam (not her real name) and her younger sister Aneela (not the real name) were usually picked and dropped at their school by their family driver Abuzar Ghaffari. Both the girls were found missing on April 9 after which their father lodged a complaint with Kohsar Police Station. When the police were unable to get any lead in the case, the grieved father nominated 24-year-old Abuzar on April 11.
During police interrogation, Abuzar revealed that he had abducted both the sisters and he was helped out by three other men in this crime.
The police said Abuzar was a resident of the same village and was known to have company with rogue youths. At Abuzar’s disclosure, the police also arrested the other three accused Shoukat (33), Aftab (21) and Hamza (16) but they did not reveal the whereabouts of the girls.
The other day, the police intercepted a suspected a car at a picket setup in Sector I/10. Seeing the police, the car occupants threw the two girls on the road and sped away. The picket police were unable to nab them.
According to the police, raids were being carried out in various locations of the city to arrest the absconders. The police said that the accused were trying to move the girls to another city when they were intercepted at the picket.
The girls in their statement said that Abuzar had abducted them on April 9 and took them to a guesthouse where they were raped and kept for five days. The police say that medical examination of the girl had been done and four accused had already been apprehended who were involved in the crime.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Asif Mahmood, who is investigation officer of the case, said the girls were tricked into going to the guesthouse by Abuzar and his cunning accomplices. “Since investigation is yet underway, so it will be too early to say how things took place,” said Mahmood, adding that it was probable that Abuzar had passed on the girls to other men after raping them.
