A local Election Tribunal on Tuesday discarded objections on Ayesha Ahad’s candidature, allowing her to contest elections from NA-119, Lahore.
Ayesha’s candidacy was challenged by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N)’s Bilal Yasin, claiming she was a bank defaulter and had made a settlement with bank on her loan.
The tribunal told Yasin that many of his senior leaders would be out of the election race if bank settlements were made an issue.
Ayesha, who claims to be the wife of Hamza Shahbaz, will contest elections from NA-119.
ASIF HASHMI DISQUALIFIED: An Election Tribunal on Tuesday declared Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s candidate Syed Asif Hashmi ineligible for upcoming polls. The Returning Officer had dismissed Hashmi’s nomination papers for NA-118 on various charges leveled by two petitioners.
