135 terrorists, 7 civilians killed in 2nd week of April: FAFEN

Twenty incidents of political violence left 170 people dead and 42 injured between April 6 and 12, compared with the preceding week when 53 were killed and 65 injured in 26 incidents, says the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).
Four incidents of electoral violence claimed three lives while ANP candidate escaped a bomb attack.
Terrorists constituted majority of the 212 victims – 135 killed and five injured. Civilian fatalities decreased from last week’s 22 to seven. Twenty-eight security personnel were also killed and 10 sustained injuries. FATA was the most volatile region where 160 people – mostly terrorists – were killed and 12 injured, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (3 killed, 30 injured), Balochistan (6 killed) and Sindh (1 killed).
This week, 20 political violence incidents were reported in nine districts and three tribal regions, compared with 10 districts and two tribal regions in the preceding week.
Of the incidents in the week under review, seven targeted public, six attacks were aimed at security forces, three each hit terrorists and state infrastructure and one was aimed at an anti-polio team.
