An election tribunal of the Lahore High Court on Monday accepted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers for NA-119 constituency and Shahbaz Sharif’s papers for NA-161 constituency.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers from NA-120 had been challenged before an election tribunal of the Lahore High Court.

Two appeals were filed pleading that the former prime minister had concealed his assets at the time of filing of nomination papers  further alleging that Nawaz was involved in money laundering worth billions of US dollars.

Moreover, the Election Tribunal of Peshawar High Court allowed the chief of the Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman to contest elections and accepted his nomination papers from NA-27 constituency.
