Sindh IGP directs officers to improve election security

After the latest act of terrorism in Swat, Sindh IGP on Monday issued instructions to senior police officers to improve the security plan of elections in Karachi.
Sindh IGP Shahid Nadim Baloch also issued instructions for increased security of candidates, political and religious parties’ leaders and of the general public in the metropolis.
“Alert and vigilant police officials should be deployed at entrances, exits of province, airports, railway stations and bus stands,” Sindh IGP said.
Shahid Nadim Baloch directed the senior police officers to make sure that patrolling and police pickets in sensitive areas of the city should be increased.
“Police officials’ performance in these sensitive areas should also be monitored,” he added.
