The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the case of irregularities in the national flag carrier for two weeks while directing the federation to pass an order for the PIA managing director (MD) asking him not to fly plane.
A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed resumed hearing in the case of gross violations of the rules and irregularities in the PIA.
The Attorney General apprised the court that currently MD PIA, was not flying any airplane.
However, the court directed the federation to pass a clear cut order in this regard.
During the course of proceeding, the AG also informed the court that the government was also taking effective steps for the appointment of new Chairman for the airline.
Later, the court adjourned further hearing for two weeks.
