Interior Minister Malik Habib Khan accepted establishment division’s stance on not transferring IG police Islamabad and expressed regret over the matter.
Official sources said that the caretaker interior minister had sent a summary to the establishment division for transferring director general passport, director general FIA and IG police Islamabad.
Later, he alleged that secretary establishment division was not implementing his summary.
On the other hand, establishment division spokesman repudiated interior minister’s stance in his statement, saying that a procedure was in place in connection with transfer and posting of officials which could not be deviated from.
Sources said that the interior minister, while accepting the cabinet division view point, has withdrawn the summary and acknowledged that IG Police Islamabad should not be transferred.
Sources said that the premier intelligence agencies of the country had also given the report that the incumbent IG Islamabad should not be transferred as he was performing his functions in a very good manner.
