Objections against former federal minister Khurshid Shah have been withdrawn as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved his nomination papers from the constituency NA-199.
The Sukkur Bachao Ittehad Chairman Shahzado Darheo submitted an application against the senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) saying that he did not mention the real value of his assets while submitting nomination papers, and he did not fulfil the condition laid down in article 62 and 63 of the Constitution. He had urged the court to reject his papers as he the information provided was dubious.
The ECP, while rejecting the objections, had accepted the nomination papers of Khurshid Shah.
On the other hand, the Election Tribunal had also accepted the papers of several candidates from Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Kashmore and Shahdadkot after hearing of objections filed by their opponents.
