Although the political parties in the country have yet to launch their election campaigns due to the lingering fear of Taliban, but the Hizbut Tahrir (HuT) has launched a different kind of campaign all over the country to convince the public not to participate in the polls and to join hands with the outlawed organisation to realise the dream of unification of Muslim world through a Khilafah state under the leadership of Sheikh Ata Abu Rishta.
The campaign had been started in almost all parts of the country and the members of the banned outfit have started holding public gathering and corner meetings to convince citizens that democracy was an un-Islamic system and were urging them to work with HuT for unification of Muslim world under a single Khilafah state.
On the other hand, the countries intelligence agencies have started operations against HuT and have arrested two of its members from outside a mosque who were involved in distribution of leaflets amongst the worshipers and preaching them not to participate in elections, as democracy was un-Islamic. In the leaflet, Hut invited the general public to join hands with them in order to abolish democracy from the country and to establish Khilafah system in the country.
Some important points from the leaflet are as follows: Muslims have not been stung twice, but countless times by the current ruling system of Pakistan. Each time new faces came through either through coups or elections, while the people have been cursing the old faces that they see. However, only after a while, the new faces appear even uglier and more despised than the old faces. The current system was incapable of looking after the affairs of the people and securing the rights that Allah (the Almighty) guaranteed humankind, regardless of their race, language, gender or religion.
“Pakistan’s current system is a continuation of the British rule occupation that abolished Islamic rule in the Indian subcontinent in the first place. Even though the Muslims shed their pure blood to establish Pakistan in the name of Islam, it was the British Parliament that created Pakistan’s initial legislation under its Indian Independence Act of 1947. Even though Pakistan produced its first constitution in 1956, this and every subsequent constitution, including the present 1973 constitution, has been framed around British secular law,” mentioned the leaflets.
It further said that the Objectives Resolution of 1949 did not fix secular democracy’s denial of Allah (the Almighty) as the only sovereign to have full command over mankind. In fact, although this resolution began by stating that “Sovereignty over the entire universe belongs to Allah, the Almighty alone,” it promptly transferred this sovereignty to the “Constituent Assembly” an assembly of men and women, though Islam mandated sovereignty was only for Allah. As for Article 227 of Constitution, the leaflet mentioned, that provided for all existing laws to be brought in “conformity with the injunctions of Islam” again this article gaves ultimate choice to the assembly.
The HuT members have been fiercely opposing the establishment of democracy in the country and have said on record that democracy was the system of infidels and it was stopping Khilafah from gaining roots in Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Indonesia.
For the members of the banned organisation, the Khilafah system alone could ensure strong policies regarding education, foreign policy, economy, judiciary, consultation, accounting and accountability of rulers, all in accordance with Islam.
“HuT is amongst us to lead us to the establishment of the Khilafah,” said the leaflet. It further mentioned that the HuT had prepared an entire constitution of 191 articles, accompanied with divine evidences from the Quran and Sunnah. Moreover, it said that HuT had produced armies of capable, aware and committed, men and women to advise the rulers in Khilafah system in their efforts towards the implementation of Islam.
Talking to Pakistan Today, a leader of HuT confirmed that the outlawed organisation had started its campaign across the country for abolishment of democracy and establishment of Khilafah in the country. “We would hold public gathering, corner meetings and carry out door-to-door campaigns to boycott the elections as democracy is un-Islamic,” he added.
