People Republic of China acting Consul General Pan Quing Jians on Monday called on the Sindh caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Justice (r) Zahid Alvi and exchanged with him views about the forthcoming general elections in the country.
The caretaker CM said that holding polls with absolute transparency and in a most free, fair and non-partisan manner will be the top priority of the interim government.
He said all resources have been put in place to accomplish the task in a supportive environment.
Furthermore, CM Alvi said that he had recently been holding meetings with intellectuals, politicians and notables from different walks of life to seek their suggestions and to ensure that elections were held in a most peaceful manner.
CM Alvi said that Pakistan and China enjoyed deep-rooted brotherly relations that were being further strengthened with the passage of time.
He also appreciated the support and cooperation extended by China in developing vital infrastructure in the province, as well as in the country.
The Chinese acting consul general on the occasion said that development projects like Gwadar Port was a reflection of the close relationship enjoyed by the two countries.
He assured that this cooperation between the two countries would continue in the coming years too.
