Chairman FBR takes serious notice of revenue shortfall

Federal Board of revenue (FBR) Chairman Ansar Javed has taken serious notice of the fall in revenue and started marathon meetings within the FBR.
A statement on Monday said that after assuming charge he has started consultation with stakeholders. In this connection, the first meeting was held with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry over the weekend.
The chairman during his campaign would review and examine the performance of each large taxpayers unit (LTU) and Regional Tax office RTO.
The chief commissioners have been directed to devolve strategies to achieve the freshly assigned budget targets. The chairman has also directed Member (IR-Ops) to immediately issue letters to all the RTOs and LTUs highlighting their performance and achievements / shortfalls, and has directed that remedial strategies be made to ensure collection of the assigned targets for the last quarter ending June 30, 2013.
