Sorry mates, I tried my best!

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi in his message at Twitter has said that some legal hitches stood between the kite-flying enthusiasts and their beloved merrymaking spring festival, thus it was not possible for him to make an exception, though he tried his best. He even apologised to the residents of Punjab for not being able to let them celebrate Basant.

At the start of the April it was reported that Punjab government was likely to announce Basant on April 13-14 after the approval of the caretaker chief minister, however nods from other stakeholders were yet to be received.

In an earlier statement Najam Sethi had said that consultations were underway and a final decision would be taken soon. However, he ultimately lost the case.
