Rawal Town Tehsil Municipal Administration, under its operation against encroachments, has confiscated eight truckloads of goods, imposed fines on 65 shopkeepers involved in encroachments, while removing 40 illegal political banners from several city areas.
According to TMA, Rawal Town Spokesman, on the orders of Rawalpindi District Coordination Officer (DCO), Rawal Town administration is removing all political hoardings, stickers, banners and posters exceeding sanctioned size and displayed in violation of code of conduct announced by Election Commission of Pakistan for General Elections 2013.
The administrator has warned the candidates that on the violation of the code of conduct, reports would be sent to ECP. The reports about continuous violations of the code of conduct are also being sent to respective police stations. The operation will continue on daily basis till the completion of general elections 2013 and no relaxation will be given to anyone.
Meanwhile, TMA, Rawal Town Enforcement staff conducted raids at Raja Bazaar, Liaquat Road, Pirwadhai area, Jamia Masjid Road and several others areas and imposed fines on 65 encroachers while eight truckloads of goods were also confiscated and shifted to TMA Store.
