Hollywood, as much as it hates to admit it, loves formula far more than Bollywood perhaps. In fact, if something works, another “installment” is made, simply to milk one successful idea into a profitable franchise that spawns several sequels. 2013 will be the year that will probably see the most sequels released in the same year. With the likes of Texas Chainsaw 3D (seventh film in franchise), A Good Day To Die Hard (Die Hard 5) already out, close to 30 films are expected to release this year. The most anticipated of these include Iron Man 3 (April 26), Star Trek: Into Darkness (May 17), Fast & Furious Six (May 24), Hangover III (May 31), 300: Rise of an Empire (Aug 2), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec 13). Other sequels releasing this year are: Despicable Me 2, Paranormal Activity 5, Monsters University, Thor: The Dark World, Kick-Ass 2, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Riddick, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Red 2, The Wolverine (July 26), Insidious Chapter 2, Cloudy 2: Revenge Of The Leftovers (Dec 20), Scary Movie 5, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters (Aug 16), The Last Excorcism II, The Smurfs 2 (Aug 2) and Grown Ups 2 (Aug 30). Bruce Willis appears in the most sequels this year. A Good Day To Die Hard (released), G I Joe: Retaliation (released), Red 2 and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
