Caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib on Saturday assured Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso of his neutrality and reiterated that he had no affiliation with any party.
The interim prime minister had summoned Interior Minister Malik Habib and sought a clarification on a statement regarding Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif.
Following the summons, Habib presented his clarification to the caretaker prime minister and said that he had made the statement in good intention and that it was distorted by the media.
Prime Minister Khoso reiterated that the mandate of the interim government was to conduct free and transparent elections and it was essential that the caretaker cabinet remained neutral.
Habib assured Prime Minister Khoso that he was neutral and had no affiliation with any political party.
Sources added that the caretaker prime minister will make a decision to accept or reject the clarification of Habib at a later time and he has prohibited cabinet members from making political statements to the media.
