The legal disputes of Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt will now reportedly be showcased in a documentary film, to be directed by Muazzam Beg, director of “Sadda Adda” (2011), reported media sources.
Muazzam Beg was also the co-writer of Imtiaz Ali’s superhit “RockStar”, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. The man now plans to film a documentary which will reportedly relate the life stories of the two famous actors, along with a detailed narrative discussing their social, psychological and economic lives, from before their rise to fame. Beg explains to Indian media that it’s not a feature film, but a documentary/drama based on “democratic expression.”
Salman Khan’s alleged involvement in a 2002 hit-and-run case, and a case of illegal hunting, while Sanjay Dutt’s five-year prison sentence for his illegal acquisition of arms from those involved in the 1993Mumbai blasts case will be depicted in it.
Reportedly, Khan showed interest when approached with the idea. However; Indian media outlets quote Beg as saying he has not been able to talk to Sanjay Dutt yet, despite the fact that he contacted Ganesh Acharya, who choreographed Dutt for a song in the upcoming “Policegirl” and claims to have known Dutt for over two decades.
Reportedly, Beg will finance the documentary himself, using funds from his new NGO, Indian Film Fraternity. Reports said the project is already in the pre-production phase, and Beg intends to release it soon, though he has not as yet announced a release date.
