Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz has directed Member Estate to carry out operation against illegal possession of the authority’s land in Sector H-9. He said that encroachments portray an ‘ugly’ picture of the city and operations for removal of these encroachments would continue without any concession or discrimination, said a press release issued here Friday.
When approached, the spokesperson of CDA told APP that Chairman had asked the occupants to raze their structures otherwise the authority would take severe action.
Apprising the CDA chairman about the operation in the katchi abadi in Sector H-9, Shaista Sohail, Member Estate said that people who have been shifted by CDA administration from WASA land, Green Belt of Sector G-7 and Chak Shahzad areas were temporarily settled in Sector H-9.
However, CDA received several complaints that people from different parts of the country have gradually settled illegally and not only constructed houses but also involved in unauthorized sales and purchase of houses and land in the area.
