Sindh Police took several people into custody on Friday after matriculation board caught 119 children in raids in six districts of Larkana, who were cheating in their exams.
In Landhi alone, 50 pupils were caught using unfair means to attempt their examination. Moreover, a person impersonating his brother was also arrested from the scene.
The matriculation board office team conducting the raids revealed that the illegal practice was taking place under the ‘supervision’ of police, deputed there to oversee the examinations.
A media report said the school had accommodated 600 pupils in the centre that had a capacity of 150 students, adding that legal proceedings can be initiated against the senior superintendent.
Meanwhile, the news of ninth class exams paper leakage has perturbed students, who asked for appropriate action against those responsible.
