The newly-appointed District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rizwan Mehboob has called for a meeting today to review the amount of money spent on development projects in the previous regime. Lahore DCO would review the working of City District Government Lahore (CDGL) and would gauge the performance of the development projects launched by the previous government.
The departments concerned will briefly describe the status and working of development projects in the city.
CDGL officials believe that it would challenging for the new DCO to cope up with the challenges the city faces as despite heavy development expenditure by the previous regime, the citizens still faced problems regarding water and sanitation and transportation.
A CDGL official said, “Water is one of the most important problems of the provincial capital, while the education sector suffered because its share of money had been spent on Metro and other projects.”
No one can dare to question the ex-CM about the money he spent on metro project. The transfer/mishandling/misappropriation of funds was his democratic feat. He claimed "hang me if there's a corruption of one rupee"
