A local court on Thursday ordered registration of case against former Sindh chief minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah, his daughter Nafisa Shah and 13 others for beating up a lawyer for challenging the ex-CM’s nomination papers.
On Wednesday, a group of lawyers allegedly belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) manhandled their colleague for submitting objections over Qaim Ali Shah’s nomination papers.
The lawyers allegedly encircled the thrashed lawyer, namely Manzoor Ansari who was also president of Khairpur district bar, when he came out of the Sindh High Court Sukkur bench, and beat him up severally.
A sessions’ court judge while hearing the torture case ordered the police to register cases against the former CM, his daughter and 13 other persons involved in the incident.
