Former Pakistan People’s Party MNA Jamshed Dasti, has been released from Multan central jail.
Several of his supporters showered rose petals on him and warmly welcomed him outside the jail.
The Lahore High Court Multan bench had declared former MNA Jamshed Dasti’s conviction in the fake degree case null and void and ordered his release.
A local court had sentenced Dasti to three years in prison with Rs 5000 fine for contesting the 2008 elections with a fake degree.
Dasti was also disqualified from contesting the upcoming general elections and was arrested from the courtroom following the hearing.
