Two killed in fresh spate of violence, 34 suspects arrested

At least two persons were gunned down in the fresh spate of violence that erupted on Wednesday, while 34 suspected criminals have been arrested in the on-going targeted operations from different parts of metropolis.
In the first incident, some unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate firing on a 45-year-old man named Arshad and he died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, police reached the scene of the incident and shifted the dead body to a nearby hospital to undergo autopsy.
Later on, Police claimed that the deceased was a property dealer and preliminary investigation showed that the dispute occurred over some monetary issue.
In another incident, some unidentified armed persons stormed into a house located at Nusrat Bhutto Colony and opened unprovoked firing. As a result, one man died on the spot but his identified could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.
Meanwhile, rangers’ launched more targeted operations in Old Mandi and nabbed nine more criminals, while also recovering 10 TT pistols and 18 weapons from their possession.
According to media reports, upon receiving the information, rangers’ launched operation in Karnal Colony along with heavy contingents of police and apprehended nine criminals while recovering 50 bottles of fresh beer, 10 TT pistols and 18 other weapons from their possession.
Meanwhile, the rangers’ also arrested 34 suspected criminals in the on-going targeted operations, a rangers’ spokesman said on Wednesday.
The spokesman said that suspected target killers and extortionists were amongst those arrested.
Earlier this morning, rangers’ conducted targeted house-to-house search operation in the metropolis’ area of Old Sabzi Mandi.
As many as hundred security personnel riding ten mobile vans cordoned off Old Sabzi Mandi area of Karnal in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and launched operation with the help of women police and sniffer dogs.
The paramilitary troops conducted house-to-house search and took away numerous people for interrogation.
It merits mentioning here that rangers’ had launched operation in Nai Abad, Sangoleen, Chakawara, Phool Pati leen, Football stadium and Lyari.
