Lahore Drug Free City Project drops 10 NGOs, enlists four

Lahore Drug Free City Project has disassociated ten NGOs from the project for poor performance in carrying out the anti-drug activities in the city.

In this regard, a meeting of Lahore Drug Free City Project was held under the chairmanship of its Project Director Muhammad Altaf Qamar at Regional Directorate of Anti Narcotics Force Punjab, Lahore Cantt, on Tuesday.

The meeting was also attended by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Commander Brig. Shahid Afzal, Project Manager Syed Nadeem Abbas, Social Welfare Department DG and DGPR News director.

The meeting reviewed and assessed the performance of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) associated with the project and decided disassociation of ten NGOs from the project, whose performance has not been up to the mark.

The meeting also decided for the enlistment of four new NGOs, which would be associated with the project.

Ten NGOs which have been de-notified and disassociated include Aghaz-e-Nau, Al-Madina and Holy See Trust, Revival of Heritage, Roshan Rasta Rehab Centre, Social Harmony Awareness & Development Organization (SHAAD), Rising Youth Council of Pakistan, Working Woman Development Foundation, Shamrina Welfare Foundation, Pakistan Association of Health & Special Education and Young Reformers Organization.

Meanwhile, four new NGOs, which have been enlisted with the project, are: Mass Foundation, Help Day Foundation, Women Health and Vocational Society and Commission for Research and Human Development.
