National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Admiral (R) Fasih Bokhari, in a major reshuffling, recruited four new directors general (DGs), replacing three DGs.
According to a local newspaper, Punjab NAB DG, DG operations headquarters and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) DG were replaced with three new DGs, while one was retained. According to NAB sources, four new DGs were appointed on a regular basis in basic pay scale (BPS) 21.
The chairman appointed Brigadier (R) Farooq Nasir Awan as NAB DG Headquarters in BPS-21 on a regular basis. Earlier, Awan was serving as the principal secretary to the NAB chairman on contract basis.
Altaf Bahawani, the other officer of BPS-20 of NAB’s Sindh chapter was appointed as DG in NAB Headquarters in BPS-21 and posted as the DG for human resources and finance at NAB Headquarters, sources revealed.
Zahir Shah, the officer of BPS-20 previously serving in NAB’s headquarters as director was appointed as NAB DG on BPS-21 on regular basis and posted as DG operation at NAB Headquarters in Islamabad. His predecessor Colonel (R) Shahzad Anwar Bhatti was appointed as NAB DG in KP. The post was vacant due to the retirement of KP DG Khursheed Alam.
Hasnain Ahmed, another regular officer of NAB who was earlier serving in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on deputation was appointed as NAB DG in BPS-21 on a regular basis and posted as DG for NAB’s Punjab chapter. The newly appointed NAB DG Husnain Ahmed replaced Squadron Leader (R) Irshadul Haq who was earlier serving as NAB DG Punjab on an acting charge.
The NAB chief also transferred its director of human resources (HR) and finance Wing Commander (R) Tauheedul Hassan and posted him as director administration and information technology, while the additional duties of director HR and finance were assigned to Abdul Hafeez, who was already serving in the same section as an expert on a contract basis.
Secretariat Chairman Nauman, the additional director of coordination, was also transferred and posted in NAB’s Rawalpindi chapter. On the other hand, a large scale reshuffle in NAB is on the cards and in this connection the NAB Headquarters has sought options regarding new postings from all those officers of NAB from BPS-16 to BPS-21 whose tenure period in same office exceeded three years.
