Taking notice of former Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah’s illegal use of official protocol during the election campaign, the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday directed the Sindh chief secretary to stop the former chief minister from using official protocol.

ECP Secretary Isthiak Ahmed Khan, in a letter, directed Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas to ask Shah to avoid using such protocol as it was a violation of the code of conduct as well as against the principle of provision of level playing filed to all contesting candidates.

The ECP secretary also directed Abbas to transfer the Khairpur deputy commissioner and the DPO to any other province. The commission said both these officers had earlier served as secretary and security in-charge at the residence of the former chief minister.

  1. How about the sharif family using 800 policemen for their security? Will anybody have the courage to question them?
