The nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif for NA-68 Sargodha and of former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif for PP-247 Jampur were accepted by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday, reported local media.
Earlier, two applications were filed against Nawaz’s nomination papers. In the first application, Sohail Malik submitted that the PML-N chief should be disqualified for his involvement in the Asghar Khan case.
The second petition against Nawaz was filed by Afshan Ameer, who alleged that the PML-N chief was illegally occupying a property.
Meanwhile, petitioner Afzal Azeem Pahat sought disqualification of Shahbaz Sharif alleging that the former CM is “mentally unstable”.
