The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday decided to give prisoners the right to vote in the upcoming general elections.
The ECP asked for details of registered voters serving jail terms in different case. According to the ECP, prisoners would also be facilitated to cast votes for their candidates.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Election Commissioner Sonu Khan Baloch said that he had sought details about the registered voters in jails.
In addition, polling stations will be set up at the camps of internally-displaced people (IDPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ECP said they were in contact with law enforcers to maintain law and order on the Election Day.
