A minor lost both hands in an explosion in village Kiri Haider, police and hospital sources said on Saturday.
According to police, Muhammad Arif, 11, son of Inayatullah, was playing with his friends in a water channel when he picked up an explosive device. The explosive device went off blowing up his both hands.
He was rushed to DHQ Hospital Tank but doctors later referred him to Dera Ismail Khan in a critical condition.
It is believed that the explosive device was brought by recent flood torrents that flew from South Waziristan to Tank.
