Veteran jurist and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan admitted to being a Joru ka Ghulam (henpecked husband).
Ahsan, while talking to media-persons, revealed this on Saturday while submitting nomination papers for his spouse for the reserved seats for women. On the occasion, Ahsan pulled out the cat from the bag when he told media-persons that he had come there to submit the nomination papers of his wife as he was a henpecked husband.
Ahsan, who seemed to be in a congenial mood, corroborated his argument before amused reporters that Imran Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and even Shakespeare were subservient to their wives.
However, he also said that religious questions should not be made a part of the scrutiny process at the time of filing of nomination papers by aspiring candidates.
He added that questions regarding assets owned by candidates were more appropriate in connection with the scrutiny process.
Ahsan further said that strict action should be taken against tax defaulters by the authorities concerned.
