Degrees of 80 former lawmakers were declared authentic by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).
According to details, HEC submitted a list of cleared politicians to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
HEC further stated that degrees of 101 former MNAs and MPAs were yet to be verified.
The issue of fake degrees has cast a shadow over the political future of scores of former lawmakers as many degrees have been declared fake.
The ECP had reopened cases against former lawmakers accused of holding fake degrees on the directives of the Supreme Court.
