Basant enthusiasts may celebrate the kite-flying festival on April 13 and 14 at two major spots of the provincial metropolis as the City District Government of Lahore is set to recommend Jallo Park (Canal Road) and Lahore Park (Safari Park) on Rawind Road as the venues.
According to a local newspaper, officials said that the CDGL, keeping in view the interest shown by caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi for the revival of the Basant event, was set to formally send its recommendations to the government in a day or two.
“Since we think Jallo Park and Lahore Park as suitable places to celebrate the event because the two places are located far away from city areas, we are sending our recommendations by Saturday (today) or Sunday (tomorrow),” an official privy to the development said.
