Despite successive operation carried out by the police and rangers’ forces, violence continued unabated in the metropolitan as two more dead bodies were recovered on Friday.
According to rescue sources, bullet-riddled bodies of a man and a woman were found in the city’s Mawach Goth neighbourhood.
Police said the two persons were kidnapped before being shot dead. Their identification could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.
Earlier , rangers’ had cordoned off Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth by calling in heavy contingents and carried out search operation in the area, while arresting more than 20 suspects.
According to ranger’s sources, heavy contingents of Police launched an operation in Al-Asif Square and surrounding areas and started door-to-door search operation. Arrested persons were later shifted to undisclosed places for interrogation.
Meanwhile, police arrested 18 criminals from Gulshan Bonier area and recovered three pistols, one rifle and 65 bullets from their possession.
More than 1,000 rangers’ personnel, motorcycles squads and female police took part in the search operations.
