Police arrest target killer, two LJ terrorists

During an operation in the Landhi area of the city, police arrested a target killer Hanif Chatta who is accused of murdering 50 people.
Police claimed that the accused was involved in several high profile murders, including that of religious and political representatives. He was also involved in murders of police personnel.
During the police operation, three repeaters, four Kalashnikovs and 12 TT pistols were also recovered from the possession of the alleged target killer.
Police have also arrested three accused for their alleged involvement in the murder of notorious Lyari gangster Arshad Pappu.
Crime Investigation Department (CID) SSP Fayyaz Khan told media persons that two terrorists of the banned militant group namely Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were also arrested from Surjani Town on Wednesday. He said they belonged to Lashkar-e-Jaffareem Bokhari group and were involved in the killing of shias Muslims, doctors and police officials. Ten kilogrammes of explosive material was also recovered from their custody.
SSP Fayyaz said the police also recovered a cap from the custody of the accused which had an inbuilt camera that was used for spying activities by the two terrorists.
According to police, the three accused included Yasir Dada, Shahjehan Baloch and Zubair Baloch, the latter being identified as the brother of People’s Aman Committee chief Uzair Baloch.
The accused were booked in the murder case on behalf of Arshad Papu’s wife.
The police have also seized weapons from the custody of the nabbed accused.
Previously, the bodies of Arshad Papu, his brother and Shera Pathan were recovered from Lyari on 17th March. Police claimed that the three persons were kidnapped and tortured to death.
