Eyewitness identifies Shahrukh, Siraj in Shahzeb murder case

An eyewitness identified Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur in the Shahzeb Khan murder case on Wednesday, while a plea of two-day delay in the case filed by accused Ghulam Murtaza Lashari has been rejected by the court.
According to details, the investigation officer of the murder case told the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) that the prosecution witnesses were being threatened by family members of the influential accused.
The officer told the ATC judge that Asad Zuberi, father of one the witnesses namely Muhammad Ahmed Zubairi, had resigned from a key post at the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) after he was earlier threatened by high officials of being sacked.
Meanwhile, accused Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, servant of Siraj Talpur, filed a plea in an ATC stating that he wanted to change his lawyer because he was not satisfied with his counsel Akbar Khan. He said that his father would reach the city after two days and pleaded before the court that the case should be adjourned for two days, but the court rejected his plea and appointed Advocate Niamutallah Khan as his lawyer.
Earlier the court had summoned eyewitness Muhammad Ahmed Zuberi who identified all the four accused. He told the court that Shahrukh and Siraj had opened fire at Shahzeb on the day of the incident.
The eyewitness also identified the vehicle of Shahrukh, while the court also sought a report in this regard from the investigation officer.
