TTP terrorist among several held, arms recovered

Sindh Rangers’ and intelligence agencies have arrested an alleged terrorist associated with the banned militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a raid in the metropolitan.
According to a private television channel report, the security agencies conducted a raid in the Super Highway area of the city. “The arrested accused has also revealed the TTP’s plan of targeting high profile figures, including security officials, during the general elections.”
“The terrorist was working for the TTP’s armed wing,” the report, while quoting sources, said.
Rangers have also arrested some 25 suspected terrorists from Qasba and Noorani Colony areas and claimed to have recovered different weapons from the possession of the nabbed accused.
Furthermore, the rangers’ launched a targeted operation at 4am on Monday after receiving a tipoff about the presence of miscreants and members of banned outfits in Katti Pahari area.
600 rangers’ officials, including female troops and anti-terrorist squads, participated in the operation while sniffer dogs were also used during the raids.
All entry and exit points of the area were closed down and 36 heavy and light weapons were recovered during door-to-door search, while 12 suspected persons were also arrested from the same area.
Moreover, the rangers’ also launched a targeted operation against outlaws in Korangi Dhai area where several suspected persons were arrested and more than 12 weapons were recovered from the possession of the apprehended persons.
Meanwhile, targeted killings have also continued unabated in the metropolis. Per details, a person was killed in Kemari and a dead body was found from Landhi area of the city. Earlier on Monday, rangers’ had found a torture cell during a raid undertaken in Khamosh Colony.
