Former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has said fair and transparent elections were not possible without involving the army.
Talking to reporters after arriving at his residence in Chak Shehzad, he voiced the resolve to continue political activities in the country despite threats to life.
He said he wanted to raise a third political force in the country by activating his party.
Musharraf said he would himself supervise the nomination process of party candidates and demanded holding elections under the supervision of the army.
The APML chief said he would appear before the courts where cases had been registered against him.
The former president denied any deal, adding he did not impose martial law in the country.
Musharraf expressed satisfaction over the security provided to him by the government, saying, “I am being afforded complete security.”
