After scrutiny, the returning officer on Tuesday accepted the nomination papers of Badam Zareen, the first tribal woman to contest general elections.
Zareen is the first woman in the tribal history to contest for a seat of the National Assembly.
She submitted nomination papers for NA-44 Bajaur Agency and completed the first phase successfully.
Zareen told reporters that her aim was to serve the tribal women, who had remained suppressed throughout the history.
