Holding trees accountable

In pursuit to end pollen allergy, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced complete elimination of trees and plants responsible for the spread of the allergy in the federal capital.

CDA Environment Wing, Deputy Director General Malik Oliya Khan said thousands of mulberry trees and other plants which shed pollen grains would be eliminated in the period of three years. He said a large number of mulberry trees have already been chopped in some sectors of the federal capital including Faisal Avenue, sectors F-8 and G-9. He said that these plants would be replaced by other plants and trees in order to ensure Islamabad remains green.
