ECP tells interim govt to replace top bureaucrats

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday ordered the caretaker governments to change the federal and provincial secretaries in a bid to ensure that the upcoming elections were transparent, free and fair.

The official order had not been issued. However, according to media reports, ECP gave the order to replace top bureaucrats in to ensure transparent elections.

Moreover the election commission received over13,000 nomination forms for the upcoming elections out of which around 7,000 were sent to the returning officers after scrutiny.

Moreover the Director General Information Technology of the ECP Information Technology director general told reporters that nomination papers of 600 candidates had been uploaded on the ECP website.
