Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on Monday declared six more buildings as dangerous and unstable while one building situated in Saddar area is in dire need of immediate repair work before it collapses.
This was stated in a survey report prepared by the Technical Committee of the SBCA in relation to dangerous buildings present in the metropolis.
The committee that comprised of construction experts and engineers and led by Director Buildings Aashkar Dawar, surveyed the old buildings on the directives of SBCA Director General Manzoor Qadir.
The report said that the surveyed buildings included a five-storey structure that was located at plot #11-GK-6 Ghulam Hussain Quarters, a ground-plus-two-storey building at plot #19-GK-7, ground-plus-three storey building at plot #1-ARC-11, Ranchore Lane, ground-plus-one storey building at plot # 24-NP-9 in Naiper Quarters and a ground-plus-three storey building at plot no 23-NP-2 in Saddar have been declared dangerous for housing people.
It further said that the owners and inhabitants of the above mentioned six buildings have also been warned through notification to vacate the buildings immediately as there was a possibility that any building could collapse at any time.
The committee also declared that a ground-plus-four storey building, located on plot #28-N.P-2 in Saddar area, needed immediate repairs under the supervision of expert construction consultants.
