Chairman National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik stated on Monday that the authority has prepared a software to facilitate overseas Pakistani’s voters to use their right of casting votes.
Addressing a press conference at NADRA headquarters on Monday, Tariq Malik said that the professionals of the authority have successfully prepared a software through which overseas Pakistani’s could cast their vote during general election 2013.
He said that through the said software Pakistani nationals staying in 15 countries across the globe including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Oman, United States, Kuwait, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar, Italy, Malaysia, Spain, France and Australia can cast their desired vote.
Tariq Malik said the software would be sent to Election Commission (EC) for approval from where it would be forwarded to Supreme Court (SC) after authorization.
He said that the approved software prepared at the cost of Rs 1.5 million would be installed in Pakistani embassies in 15 countries where staff would be deployed to guide the overseas voters.
