The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday declared former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s son-in-law’s appointment in Pak-China Investment Company Limited (PCICL) as illegal.

The court had, on March 14, reserved its judgment on a petition challenging the appointment of the prime minister’s son-in-law, Shahnawaz Mehmood, in the company.

The government of Pakistan had, on March 4, appointed him as the deputy managing director of the company.

Javed Mehmood, who had been appointed for the same post on January 3, 2011, and whose term was going to expire on January 2, 2014, challenged the appointment of the new deputy managing director in court. He alleged the appointment had been made under political pressure and violated all rules and regulations.

  1. A person with the least of respect for himself, forget about respect for law and other moral values, will not do what the prime ministers of Zardari's crooked mafia, be it Gilani or Raja Rental have been doing with blatant shamelessness.
