JI never blamed for corruption in 65 years: Hasan

Over a 1,000 Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders have been elected to the national and provincial assemblies during last 65 years but none of them has ever been involved in corruption, said JI chief Munawar Hasan. He was addressing a gathering on the occasion of Umeed-e-Pakistan Youth Convention organised by Shabab-e-Milli on MA Jinnah Road on Sunday.
Addressing the occasion, Hasan appealed to the people to vote for the JI in order to make the future of the country, as JI was an only party which can change the destiny of the country and its people.
“We are working for the deprived, needy, poor, downtrodden and for those people who have been affected from military operations,” he added.
He urged the workers of Shabab-e-Milli to work day and night in order to foster awareness among the people to come out on election day and vote for change.
“The people should reject those in upcoming elections who push the country into the war on terrorism,” he added.
The JI chief said that the plunderers after looting the national exchequer were jumping off ships before elections, with a view to repeat their practice again.
He urged PTI Chairman Imran Khan to be attentive before including those who left other parties in order to join the PTI for top party slots.
He said media should expose those who plundered the national exchequer and violated the articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.
He said that the MQM was not a political party, but a terrorist organisation which snatched the mandate of the people by force.
Hasan rejected the delimitation of just 11 constituencies and said that it was just a sheer drama by the Election Commission of Pakistan to befool the Karachiites.
Meanwhile, the JI chief praised the Taliban struggle in Afghanistan and said that the NATO forces have been defeated by the Taliban.
Earlier, Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Asadullah Bhutto, Azeem Baloch, Zubair Safdar and Ateequr Rehman spoke on the occasion.
